Foreign representatives joined about 5,000 Bangladeshi devotees in the gathering, the 90th of its kind at Bakshibazar, said a media release.

National Ameer Mobassher-ur-Rahman welcomed all and said that in its more than a century of presence in Bangladesh the Ahmadiyya community had proved themselves as ‘peaceful’ and ‘law abiding’ citizens.

He said they were spreading the true Islam in the light of holy Quran and the prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM).

And for that, he said, the “evil motives” of spreading Pakistan-based religious fanaticism in Bangladesh would not succeed.
