A milad mahfil was held in Dhaka on Friday marking the 37 death anniversary of Sheikh Lutfur Rahman, father of the country's independence hero Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Dhaka, Mar 30 (bdnews24.com) – A milad mahfil was held in Dhaka on Friday marking the 37 death anniversary of Sheikh Lutfur Rahman, father of the country's independence hero Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina, also granddaughter of Lutfur Rahman, and relatives of the Bangabandhu family were present at the milad mahfil held at Bangabandhu's residence on Road-32 in Dhanmondi.
The participants at the programme prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls of Lutfur Rahman, his wife, Bangabandhu and his family members.
Lutfur Rahman died on Mar 30, 1975.
