Wasfia off to climb the Everest

Bangladesh's female mountaineer Wasfia Nazreen, who is on a mission to conquer the seven highest mountains of each continent of the world, is off to climb the Mount Everest, the world's highest peak.

Dhaka, Mar 10 (bdnews24.com) – Bangladesh's female mountaineer Wasfia Nazreen, who is on a mission to conquer the seven highest mountains of each continent of the world, is off to climb the Mount Everest, the world's highest peak.
Her flag-off ceremony was held on Saturday at the premises of the Gulshan branch of the City Bank Limited, her platinum sponsor for the Everest climb.
Wasfia was handed over the Bangladesh flag, which she is going to plant on the top of the Everest, at the send off ceremony where she made a presentation of her previous mountain climbing experiences.
As part of the Seven summits campaign, she has successfully complete two continents, the latest one being Aconcagua, the second highest of the Seven summits and the highest point outside the Himalayas.
Wasfia Nazreen's mission is to celebrate the 40 years of Bangladesh's independence and the progress made by its women since then.
Renata Ltd. & Kazi Farms Ltd. are also funding the expedition as gold sponsors.
