Dhaka, Dec 19 (bdnews24.com) – The government has published a special supplement on Bangladesh in the British daily The Times.
As many as 1.8 million copies of the 12-page supplement accompanied The Times issues on Monday.
The supplement titled 'Accomplishment beyond expectation' has 27 articles and interviews on different aspects of Bangladesh and advertisements of several local companies.
The government paid Upper Reach, a UK-based media agency, $150,000 or Tk 12.5 million, for writing and getting the supplement published.
The supplement is available for viewing at the agency's website www.upper-reach.com.
Foreign ministry's external publicity wing director general Shameem Ahsan told bdnews24.com on Saturday the publication would contain interviews of the finance, foreign, industries and tourism ministers and that of the central bank governor.
"The private sector has been highlighted in the supplement. There is an article on the NGO BRAC," Shameem said.
Upper Reach and the external publicity wing worked together on the supplement.
Upper Reach prepares tailor-made country reports and publishes those through its media partner, The Times.
