Motia, Imam and Hanif visit Prof Anu Muhammad at hospital

Agriculture minister Motia Chowdhury and acting Awami League general secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif on Thursday separately paid visits to injured economics professor Anu Muhammad, member secretary of citizens' group, the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports, at Square Hospital in the city.

Dhaka, Sept 3 (bdnews24.com) – Agriculture minister Motia Chowdhury and acting Awami League general secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif on Thursday separately paid visits to injured economics professor Anu Muhammad, member secretary of citizens' group, the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports, at Square Hospital in the city.
HT Imam, one of the prime minister's advisors, also visited him at Square Hospital in the city.
Muhammad was injured in police action on Wednesday when protesters attempted to march forward in the capital to besiege Petrobangla headquarters over recent exploration deals granted to two international companies.
At least 21 other protesters were also injured after police charged them with batons during the melee on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters after the visit, Chowdhury said Wednesday's incident was "inadvertent".
She said an investigation was on to unearth what actually happened.
Meanwhile, Hanif said a quarter who belonged the opposition BNP might have hands behind such an incident to damage the government's image..
