Dhaka, April 8 (bdnews24.com) -- Christians in Bangladesh observe Easter Sunday to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ amid festivity and religious fervor.

The day is the most important religious feast of the Christian liturgical year.
It is a day of parties, gift giving and visiting relatives across the Christian world. The traditional Easter gift is chocolate egg. Eggs play an important part of the day because they symbolise new life.
Devotees across the country gathered in churches Sunday morning to say special prayers. At 7:30am, Christians thronged the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises for a sunrise service.
President of Bangladesh Christian Association Promode Mankin and Secretary General Nirmol Rozario greeted people on Easter Sunday.
