Palli Kabi Jasimuddin's wife passes away

Begum Mamtaz Jasimuddin (84), wife of 'Palli Kabi' Jasimuddin, passed away Saturday following severe cardiac arrest at the Sikder Madical College Hospital in the capital.

Dhaka, Jan 14 (BDNEWS) – Begum Mamtaz Jasimuddin (84), wife of 'Palli Kabi' Jasimuddin, passed away Saturday following severe cardiac arrest at the Sikder Madical College Hospital in the capital.
She will be buried Sunday at the family graveyard at Gobindapur village under Faridpur Sadar thana beside the grave of her husband eminent poet Jasimuddin.
Her body was kept at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) mortuary Saturday. Earlier, the body was taken to the residence of her son-in law and minister for law and parliamentary affairs Barrister Moudud Ahmed and the residence of the late poet at Kamalapur.
She is survived by three sons Dr. Jamal Anwar, Firoz Anwar, Khurshid Anwar, two daughters Begum Hasna Moudud and Asma Elahi and a host of grandchildren and relatives to mourn her death.
Her eldest son Kamal Anwar breathed his last few years back.
BNP standing committee member KM Obaidur Rahman, other political and social leaders condoled the death of Mrs Jasimuddin.
