Dhaka, Sept 12 (BDNEWS) – An obituary reference on the death of Dinajpur-1 constituency lawmaker Md Abdullah Al Kafi was adopted in the eighteenth session of the eighth Jatiya Sangsad on Monday.
Piloting the obituary reference Speaker of the parliament told the House, the country has lost an educationist, politician and a social worker.
It said, the Jatiya Sangsad expressed grave condolence at the death of Abdullah Al Kafi and prayed for his departed soul and also conveyed deep sympathy for the bereaved family members.
The reference said, Md Abdullah Al Kafi was born at Naopara village in Birganj thana of Dinajpur district on 28th February in 1945 and died of liver cirrhosis at 61 in Dhaka on 12th September 2005 at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital.
He obtained MA Degree with BA Honours from Rajshahi University in Economics. He was involved in teaching for quite a long time and taught Economics at the Birganj Degree College, it said.
Md Abdullah Kafi was involved in social welfare activities and many social organisations. He was elected lawmaker in the Jatiya Sangsad held on 1st October in 2001.
He also carried out his duty as a member of the standing committee on land ministry. He visited Canadian Parliament as a member of Bangladesh delegation through Strengthening Parliamentary Democracy (SPD) Project.
