Finance Minister AMA Muhith's autobiography 'Sonali Dinguli' will be up for grabs at Amar Ekushey Book Fair from Friday.

The 83-year-old has sketched his childhood, adolescence and student days in the 216-page memoir.

Muhith, who has tailored nine national budgets, seven of them in a row, wrote after staying at the Dhaka University's Salimullah Muslim Hall for five years and nine days, his student days ended.

He told bdnews24.com he will write two more autobiographies - one on the events he had faced from 1957 to 1971 and the other on his experiences after 1971.

He said he started jotting down his experiences in 1948.

The former academic resumed writing in 1983 after a gap of several years, he said.

He wrote about his birth, family, parents, siblings, childhood, life at Murari Chand College in Sylhet, and studenthood in Dhaka.

Dhrubo Esh has designed the cover of the book which is published by Chondraboty Academy.

The Dhaka University Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman will preside over the programme to mark the unveiling of the book at Shishu Academy.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) Chairman Rehman Sobhan, former finance minister M Saiduzzaman, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Chairman Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, among others, will attend the event.

National Museum's founding director Dr Enamul Haque, linguist Moniruzzaman, author Selina Hossain and Madan Mohan College Principal Abul Fateh Fattah will speak about the book.
