The ‘cultural barter’ that aims to take arts beyond the borders of countries started with Governor Ram Naik inaugurating the event in the city on Sunday evening, The Times of India reported.

The six-day workshop brought 21 artists from India and Bangladesh together.

Sandhya Singh Parmar, founder of Art Beyond Borders, the organisation which is hosting the event, said the artists would “get into an inspirational dialogue and stimulate artwork that exemplifies union of individual styles for a larger cause”.

The dialogue would culminate in artwork that would be on display and up for charity sale on Oct 31, when the workshop ends.

Art Beyond Borders works “to promote creativity and diffusion of culture and art”.

“It favours promotion and exchange of national and international artists, besides organising cultural activities for interaction between local initiatives and international artists,” Parmar said.

A cultural programme would be held on Oct 29.
