A massive funeral procession has begun in the Iranian city of Qom as part of the final rites for the country's late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to state-run Tasnim News Agency, funeral prayers began at Jamkaran Mosque at 6am local time on Tuesday, led by senior cleric Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli, before mourners set off towards the shrine of Fatima Masumeh via Prophet Muhammad Boulevard.
Aerial photographs showed hundreds of thousands of mourners taking part in the farewell ceremony in Qom, it added.
Muslim delegations from Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan also attended.
The main funeral procession was held in the capital, Tehran, on Monday, where large crowds gathered from early morning.
Khamenei and several members of his family were killed at their residence when joint US-Israeli attacks began on Feb 28.
Although funeral arrangements had initially been planned for March, they were postponed as fighting with the United States and Israel continued.
The week-long funeral ceremonies began across Iran on Friday.
As part of the programme, Khamenei's coffin will be taken to neighbouring Iraq on Wednesday.
Funeral processions and prayers will be held in the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala, where senior leaders of Iran-aligned Shia groups are set to attend.
Another procession will be held in the Iranian city of Mashhad on Thursday before Khamenei is buried at the shrine of Imam Reza.
Tasnim reported that leaders from several countries and international representatives paid tribute to Khamenei when the funeral ceremonies began.
Over the following two days, hundreds of thousands of mourners joined the farewell ceremonies at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla, where Quran recitations, elegies and pledges of revenge marked the gatherings.
On Sunday, funeral prayers for Khamenei and members of his family were attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
