Bablu wins Chittagong-9

Jatiya Party Presidium member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu has unofficially won from Chittagong-9 (Kotwali) constituency.

The results were announced from the Returning Officer’s office.

Bablu got 79770 votes while his closest contestant Workers Party candidate Abu Hanif got 3599 votes.

Polls were held in nine seats in Chittagong on Sunday.

So far, the Awami League won in four seats while Jatiya Party won one.

In Chittagong-15 (Satkania-Lohagarha) constituency, Awami League’s Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nadvi won unofficially bagging 101866, while his closet contestant BNF’s Jainal Abedin Kaderi got 4,448 votes.

Of the total 138 centres, two have been postponed due to Jamaat’s violence. Jamaat activists also snatched ballots of one centre. One was killed when law-enforcing agencies opened fire.

Returning Officer’s office told the press that Nadvi elected without 5782 votes of the two centres.

In Chittagong-4 (Sitakundu and part of the City) constituency, Awami League’s Didarul Alam was elected unofficially with his 153,815 votes.

His closest candidate JaSad’s AFM Mafizur Rahman secured only 4,462 votes of the 350,089 voters seat. The votes were conducted in 103 centres.

At Chittagong-16 (Banshkhali) constituency, Awami League’s Mostafizur Rahman bagged 147,855 votes and was declared elected unofficially.

His closet candidate Jatiya Party’s (JP) Haider Ali Chowdhury obtained 6,848 votes of the 268,567 voters constituency.

The total number of polling centres was 110.

Awami League’s Mahfuzur Rahman Mita elected unofficially from the Chittagong-3 (Sandwip) constituency. He bagged 111,743 votes. His closet contender Jatiya Party’s MA Salam got 3,466 votes.

The number of voters was 176,872. The Returning officer said of them 70 percent cast their voters.
