The Election Commission (EC) has revised the results of the referendum, reducing the total number of votes by around 1.1 million from the figures published in an earlier gazette.
The revised gazette was published on Thursday.
Of the reduction, nearly 1 million votes were reduced in favour of “Yes”, while “No” votes dropped by slightly more than 100,000.
Excluding rejected ballots, the total number of valid votes now stands at 69,186,211.
Separate gazettes for the general election and the referendum results were issued on Feb 13, a day after the polls.
According to the earlier gazette, 77,695,023 people, or 61.03 percent, cast their votes in the referendum. Of these, 7,422,637 ballots were rejected for various reasons.
Out of 72,702,386 valid votes previously reported, 50,882,660, or 68.59 percent, were in favour of “Yes”, while 22,071,726, or 31.41 percent, voted “No”.
Under the revised gazette, “Yes” votes now stand at 47,225,980 and “No” votes at 21,960,231.
The combined total of “Yes” and “No” votes is 76,621,407.
Of these, 7,435,196 ballots have been rejected. After excluding rejected ballots, the total valid votes stand at 69,186,211.
Compared with the earlier figures, “Yes” votes have decreased by 974,680, while “No” votes have fallen by 111,495.
The number of rejected ballots has increased by 12,559. Overall, the total votes cast have dropped by 1,073,616.
Asked about the revision, EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said: “There were clerical errors in the previously published results, and some numbers were misplaced. These have now been corrected and published today.”
“The number of ‘Yes’ votes is still higher. There has been no deviation in that regard,” he added.
