Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre is reviving its popular Bengali food festival, “Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0”, after last year's edition drew a strong response from guests.

The buffet dinner will be held at the hotel's Attitude Restaurant between 6:30pm and 10:30pm from Jul 8 to 12.

The festival is themed around Gram Bangla, recreating the food, music and atmosphere of rural Bengal for guests within the city, Holiday Inn said in a statement.

On arrival, guests will be served the hotel's signature green mango juice, also known as Aam Panna, alongside other traditional drinks such as lassi, ghol -- a yogurt-based drink, wood apple squash, lemon mint and tamarind squash.

Fresh Padma hilsa is among the festival's key attractions, served alongside a savory mash and pickle station, as well as street-food favorites including fuchka, chotpoti, and jhalmuri.

The main course spread includes panta bhat (fermented cold rice), bhuna khichuri (lentil pilaf), mutton kacchi, sonali chicken pulao, shorshe Ilish, coconut prawn curry, spicy duck curry, beef kala bhuna, local fish curries, sun-dried fish preparations, seasonal vegetables and lentil.

For dessert, guests can choose from sweet yogurt, jaggery-sweetened yogurt, shahi tukra, nawabi shemai, patishapta, traditional pitha, narikel naru, jilapi, kheer and malai tea.

Beyond the food, the hotel will host a traditional bioscope, a Gram Bangla-themed photo booth, a fortune-telling corner, face painting and a live Baul performance featuring the ektara.

Dipankar De, general manager of Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre, said the festival's return followed repeated requests from guests after last year's success.

"In our busy city lives, we often miss the food, simplicity and cultural warmth of rural Bengal. Through Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0, we are creating a space where families and friends can enjoy authentic Gram Bangla cuisine and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh," he said.

The buffet is priced at Tk 7,777 net, with a Buy One, Get Three Free offer available on selected bank cards. Terms and conditions apply.
