Chowdhury, a former secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, was arrested from Dhaka’s Paribagh on Thursday.

Russell, son of the business conglomerate's Chairman MA Hashem, has been arrested in Gulshan.

Iqbal Uddin served as the chairman of RAJUK between 2001 and 2004, ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told bdnews24.com.

They have been arrested in a case filed by the graft watchdog with the Motijheel police in Dhaka.

The case over irregularities over land plot in RAJUK-developed housing project 'Purbachal' accuses six others, said Motijheel Police Station OC Omar Faruq.

They are – Russell’s brother Ashfaq Aziz Rubel and former RAJUK members SD Foyez, AKM Waheedul Islam, FM Jafrullah, HM Jahirul Haque and Rezaul Karim Tarafdar.

According to the case documents, the suspects conspired with each other to allot 16.5 decimal land plots each to Partex Group chairman's sons Russell and Rubel against the public interest.
