A funeral prayer service for Zamil Ahamed Limon, a Bangladeshi national studying in the US who is believed to have been murdered, will be held in Florida on Thursday.

Golam Mortoza, press secretary of the Bangladeshi Embassy in Washington, DC, took to Facebook late on Wednesday night (Bangladesh time) to announce that Limon’s Namaz-e-Janaza is to be held after Zuhr prayers at 2pm local time at the Islamic Society of the Tampa Bay Area.

Limon’s mortal remains will arrive in Dhaka on May 4.

Mortoza later posted a screenshot of a correspondence regarding the remains early on Thursday morning.

“Zamil Limon’s body will arrive in Dhaka at 8:10am on May 4, 2026,” he wrote.

The screenshot said, “Further to our previous coordination, I am writing to inform you that the mortal remains of the late Zamil Ahamed Limon have been received by the funeral home and are scheduled for repatriation via Emirates (EK) flight 0582, arriving at Dhaka (DAC) on 04 May 2026 at 8:40 AM. The remains will be transported from Orlando (MCO) via Emirates (EK) flight 0220, leaving on 02 May 2026 at 8:50 PM. The journey includes a transit in Dubai (DXB).

Nahida Sultana Bristy and Limon, both PhD students at the University of South Florida, were found dead in the US.

They had been missing since Apr 16.

Limon’s body was recovered on Apr 24.

Bristy’s brother Zahid Hasan Pranto, announced on Saturday that she had also died.

Local police in Florida arrested a 26-year-old US citizen over the deaths, charging him with two counts of first-degree murder.

Identified as Hisham Abugharbieh, the suspect was Limon’s roommate in Tampa, Florida.
