Rain has swept across Dhaka, Chattogram, Bandarban and other parts of Bangladesh under the influence of a low-pressure system, with the Met Office forecasting wet weather through Jul 11 or 12.
Meteorologist Md Omar Faruk told bdnews24.com that Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 would likely remain in force at seaports for another couple of days.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said the seasonal land depression over southern Jharkhand and adjoining Odisha had weakened after moving northwest to eastern Madhya Pradesh and was expected to weaken further.
However, pressure differences over the northern Bay of Bengal could still trigger squally weather along Bangladesh's coast.
Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 remains in force for the seaports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra.
Fishing boats and trawlers in the northern Bay have been advised to stay close to the coast until further notice.

The Met Office warned of temporary waterlogging in parts of Chattogram city and possible landslides in the division's hilly areas.
Ishurdi recorded the country's highest temperature at 33.8°C on Tuesday, while Bandarban logged the lowest at 23.5°C.
Besides Chattogram's 394mm from the 24 hours to 6am Tuesday, rainfall totals reached 344mm at Ambagan, 176mm in Bandarban, 170mm in Sitakunda, 143mm in Hatiya, 106mm at Khepupara, 94mm in Teknaf, 91mm in Feni and 46mm in Dhaka.
