Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined a memorial meeting in Dhaka marking the second anniversary of the July Uprising.
The event has brought together families of those killed and injured during the 2024 movement.
The conference began at 10am on Friday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon, where the meeting is being held.
It has been organised jointly by the July 24 Martyrs' Family Society and the We Are July Warriors Central Executive Committee.
Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said the event was being held to remember those who lost their lives during the bloodshed of the July Uprising.
He said Tarique was attending as the chief guest.
The stage bears the title "July National Conference 2026", while the event's slogan reads: "Bangladesh First".

Another banner reads: "A proud history, an indomitable spirit. Let the 4th of July inspire everyone. The sacrifice that changed history."
The 2024 student-led mass movement is officially recognised as the July Uprising.
It began as a peaceful campaign seeking reforms to the quota system in government jobs before turning into a broader anti-authoritarian movement.
The protests ended with former prime minister Sheikh Hasina resigning and leaving the country on Aug 5, 2024, bringing her 15-year rule to an end.
Family members of those killed and injured during the Uprising are attending the memorial meeting.
The event opened with a one-minute silence in honour of those who lost their lives.
The memorial meeting, presided over by Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, is also being attended by cabinet members, lawmakers, politicians, ambassadors, high commissioners, senior military and civil officials, and leaders of professional bodies.
