President Mohammed Shahabuddin has accepted the resignations of High Court Division judges Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Naima Haider.
The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued separate notifications on Monday confirming the development.
Justice Mamnoon, who had been on leave for a year, submitted his resignation on Feb 2, citing personal reasons.
His resignation was sent via email to the Supreme Court Registrar General and the law ministry.
Justice Naima resigned on Feb 9.
According to Supreme Court spokesperson Md Shafiqul Islam, she submitted her resignation to the president through the chief justice on Feb 5, which was later forwarded to Bangabhaban.
The son of lawyer Rezaur Rahman, Justice Mamnoon earned his LLB (Honours) and LLM from Dhaka University.
He was enrolled as a lawyer in the district court in 1989 and the High Court in 1990, before joining the Appellate Division in 2001.
He was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court in 2004 and became a permanent judge in 2006.
Throughout his career, he attended international conferences in France, India, and the UK, and travelled extensively to countries including the US, Germany, and Canada.
The daughter of former chief justice Badrul Haider Chowdhury, Justice Naima holds degrees from Dhaka University and Columbia University, where she earned an LLM and a PhD.
She also studied at Oxford, Berkeley, and the University of London.
She was enrolled in the district court in 1989, the High Court in 1993, and the Appellate Division in 2004.
She was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court in 2009 and gained permanent status in 2011.
