Navana Group Vice-Chairman Sajedul Islam arrested

“There was an arrest warrant against him in a case at the labour court,” a police official says

Police have arrested Navana Group Vice-Chairman Sajedul Islam.

He was arrested from a house in Dhaka’s Banani during a raid from Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Ibne Mizan told bdnews24.com, “There was an arrest warrant against him in a case at the labour court. He was arrested on the basis of the warrant. He was later taken to the court.”

However, the nature of the case could not be immediately confirmed as the warrant did not mention the details of the charges.

After the arrest, Sajedul was taken to Tejgaon Industrial Zone Police Station. Police said details of the case will be provided at a later time.
