Bangladesh has dispatched a second mission carrying emergency medicine and relief supplies to assist victims of the devastating earthquake in neighbouring Myanmar.
In line with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus's orders, the aid was sent on Tuesday aboard three transport aircraft operated by the Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Air Force, the Chief Advisor's Office said.
The mission includes a 55-member rescue and medical team, comprising personnel from the three Armed Forces, Fire Service and army doctors, and civilian medical professionals. An additional 37 crew members are accompanying the mission across the three aircraft.
The teams are equipped with their own self-sustainment gear, including food rations, hygiene supplies, communication tools, and cooking equipment.
The aid package also includes eight tonnes of dry food, 2.5 tonnes of drinking water, four tonnes of medicine, one tonne of hygiene products, and 1.5 tonnes of relief tents.
Earlier, on Sunday, Bangladesh sent its first mission of emergency relief supplies, including medicines, tents, dry food, and medical teams, to Myanmar through the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
