The appointment of 10 others, who have also cleared the test, to the Department of Environment under the environment and forests ministry was recommended as well in an order issued on Sunday.

The PSC said in a media statement their appointment will be finalised once they clear the medical and pre-employment verification process.

Last week, the PSC recommended recruitment of 898 others from the same batch as headmasters of government primary schools.

All these candidates had failed to secure any cadre and non-cadre first-class positions due to the lack of vacancies.

As many as 6,584 candidates had passed the written test and viva of the 34th BCS examination, but the PSC recommended appointment of 2,159 in several cadres.

Candidates who fail to get any cadres are usually appointed to first-class non-cadre posts. The trend has begun since the 31st BCS test.

The PSC has also been appointing similar candidates as second-class non-cadre officers after the government amended the Non-cadre Posts Recruitment Rules in June 2014.

The government has appointed 196 candidates from the 34th BCS examinations to first class non-cadre posts.

The rest of the candidates will be appointed to second-class non-cadre posts until the final result of the 35th BCS test is published.

Details are available on the commission website www.bpsc.gov.bd.
