Chief justice SK Sinha administered the oath at the Judges' Lounge of the Supreme Court on Thursday.
On Feb 9 a circular was issued for their appointment in High Court.
Those recruited include three former district judges. They are retired Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Mujibur Rahman, Supreme Court Registrar Md Farid Ahmed Shibli and Gazipur District Judge Md Amir Hossain.
SM Mujibur Rahman oversaw the trial of the sensational 10-truck arms haul in Chittagong.
Farid Ahmed, who served as secretary to Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission, was appointed as Supreme Court registrar only this month.
Among the newly recruited judges were lawyers in the Supreme Court -- Khijir Ahmed Choudhury, Razik-Al-Jalil, Jyotirmoy Narayan Deb Choudhury, Bhishmadev Chakrabortty, Md Iqbal Kabir Liton, Md Salim, and Md Shohrowardi.
Razik-Al-Jalil, Bhishmadev Chakrabortty, Md Salim, and Md Shohrowardi were deputy attorney generals before they became judges.
The total number of Judges in the High Court now stands at 97.
Besides those newly appointed, the job of two is yet to be regularised.
The Appellate Division has seven judges including the chief justice.
Monday’s appointment of judges is the first by the present government that took office last year.
