India has officially informed Bangladesh about the arrest of Nur Hossain, the prime suspect of Narayanganj multiple murders, the minister of state for home says.

“They (India) have given us the information in a note verbale,” Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told reporters on Wednesday.
Nur Hossain was arrested with two accomplices from an apartment in Kolkata on Saturday.
The absconding Narayanganj councillor, prime accused in seven murders case, has been booked under Arms Act and Foreigners Act for illegal trespass into Indian territory without valid travel documents and for illegal possession of a weapon.
He was produced in the district court in Barasat by West Bengal police on Sunday and send on police remand for eight days.
The state minister said New Delhi sought more information about Nur Hossain and the government was collecting the information.
The government was continuing effort to bring back Nur Hossain, he said.
On Tuesday, state minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam said Bangladesh was awaiting an official response from India about Nur Hossain’s arrest and the extradition process involved.
