BNP Chairperson’s Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan told bdnews24.com of the decision. “They (foreign diplomats) will be informed of the matter.”
Talks would also include the current political situation of the country, he said.
BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Abdul Mayeen Khan, Vice President Shamser Mobin Chowdhury and some other senior leaders are expected to attend the talks.
Police nabbed over 150 18-Party Alliance activists in a raid inside the BNP headquarters within hours of blasts taking place in their Monday rally. At least seven top BNP leaders were picked up from the site.
Police said 10 crude bombs were found inside the party office.
The BNP alleged that police illegally raided, vandalised and looted property and assaulted activists during the raid.
Meanwhile, police has sought a total of 17 days’ remand to interrogate opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque, BNP Joint General Secretary Aman Ullah Aman and Mohammad Shahjahan, DAB General Secretary and BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Dr M Zahid Hossain, and party's Assistant Information and Research Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman. They have been accused of instigating the violence.
A Dhaka court sent them to jail and set Mar 20 as the next hearing date.
