Awami League joins Brussels to condemn terror attack

The Bangladesh Awami League in Brussels has joined the Belgians to condemn terror attacks on the first anniversary of the suicide bomb attacks.

The Mar 22 attack last year killed 32 people and injured more than 300.

Belgium Awami League on Thursday said they organised a seminar titled ’Brussels and Dhaka Solidarity for Peace’ on Wednesday at Brussels press club where they remembered victims of both Brussels and Dhaka terror attacks.

Founder and executive director of the South Asia Democratic Forum Paulo Casaca spoke at the seminar where senior Awami League leaders of different European countries have joined.

Casaca lauded Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s “zero tolerance” policy against terrorism and extremism.

Belgium Awami League President Latif Shahidul Haque chaired the seminar moderated by General Secretary Jahangir Chowdhury Ratan.

European Bangladesh Forum President Ansar Ahmed Ullah, South Asian Democratic Forum’s assistant programmer Nura Baba Loba, Denmark Awami League General Secretary Dr Bidduth Barua, France Awami League President Mohsin Uddin Khan Liton, and Netherlands Awami League President Shahadat Hossain Tapan, among others, also spoke at the seminar.
