BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi issued a statement early on Saturday condemning the attack on Friday evening that left two police officers killed.

“BNP strongly believes the law-enforcing agencies will be able to arrest the miscreants involved in the violent incident soon,” Rizvi said in the statement.

The statement claimed the incident was a ‘reflection of the deep crisis the country is experiencing’.

The party called for united efforts to solve the hostage crisis and hoped the government will take sincere steps to free the ‘foreign hostages’.

BNP has also urged the government to ensure security of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who lives in Gulshan.

“BNP hopes the government will take effective steps immediately to ensure security of foreign diplomats in the area,” Rizvi said in the statement.

The statement also prayed for the departed souls of the two police officers killed in the attack and quick recovery of those injured.
