Ruhul Kabir Rizvi too has been promoted from joint secretary general to senior joint secretary general.
Mizanur Rahman Sinha will stay on as treasurer of the leading opposition party.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s decision to promote Fakhrul and Rizvi was made public officially at a media conference on Wednesday, 11 days after the party held its sixth national council.
Khaleda was given the responsibility to form a full committee by BNP councillors who re-elected her and her son Tarique Rahman as chairperson and senior vice chairman of the party.
