Khaleda pays last respects to Jatiya Party faction leader Kazi Zafar 

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has visited the house of Jatiya Party faction leader Kazi Zafar Ahmed to pay her last respects to the former prime minister of HM Ershad’s regime.

She stood in silence for a while beside the hearse in front of the veteran politician’s house at Gulshan around 9pm on Thursday.

The former prime minister offered prayers and signed the condolence book.

Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar-led faction) Secretary General Mostafa Jamal Haider and leader TIM Fazle Rabbi were present.

The BNP chief spoke to Kazi Zafar’s wife Mamtaz Begum and daughters. 

Kazi Zafar, a leader of the 20-Party Alliance led by BNP, last met Khaleda with other leaders on Aug 12.

He died from cardiac problems at 76.

Worker’s Party chief and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon was among the politicians who rushed to the hospital to catch a glimpse of Kazi Zafar one last time.
