BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has attended a cultural function welcoming Pahela Baishakh, the Bangla new year, in front of her party’s Naya Paltan headquarters.

It is the first party programme she attended after returning home earlier this month after a three-month stay at her Gulshan office.
The last time she went to the BNP headquarters was on Oct 23 last year.
She reached Naya Paltan after 5pm where the BNP’s cultural wing organised Baishakh programmes.
Thousands of party activists welcomed Khaleda, who waived back at them.
It is the first time Khaleda attended the new year celebrations as the chief guest.
The Naya Paltan headquarters was locked for over the last three months as Khaleda stayed at her Gulshan office.
But it was unlocked on Apr 5 after the party chief returned home.
The party-endorsed Dhaka South mayor candidate Tabith Awal and North's aspirant Mirza Abbas' wife were present at the programme.
