EC removes mayor candidate Nasir’s archway at Badamtali
The Election Commission (EC) has removed an archway erected as part of Awami League-backed mayor candidate of Chittagong City Corporation polls AJM Nasir Uddin and a councillor aspirant.

Officials of the EC’s regional office in the port city removed the 15-feet long archway at Badamtali around 8pm on Sunday.
Assistant Returning Officer Shafikur Rahman told bdnews24.com that election law does not allow such erections for campaign in city polls.
An official, seeking anonymity, said a banner of Nasir and ward-28 councillor aspirant Abdur Kader was hung over the archway.
Nasir’s election symbol is ‘elephant’.
