He says BNP chief Khaleda Zia made a mistake by staying away from the dialogue process before the 2014 polls.

“There’s nothing to discuss [with the BNP] at the moment,” he said replying to a question in Bhola on Friday while laying foundations for the Liberation War Museum at Banglabazaar.

The BNP-led alliance boycotted the last parliamentary polls and has since been pressing for a snap election under a ‘neutral body’.

More than 100 people have been killed during the coalition’s ongoing agitation since Jan 5.

A few people are trying to throttle the economic advancement of our country, Muhith said hinting at the BNP alliance.

Khaleda has ignored repeated calls for ending the blockade which has had a severe impact on businesses and the economy.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, speaking at the programme, said the BNP chief was out to stop the country from developing.

“She is creating a havoc all over the country,” he said.
