“(BNP chief) Khaleda Zia has joined hands with al-Qaeda,” he said at
Parliament on Sunday, pointing finger at the subversive acts during the
20-Party alliance agitations.

The minister said, “Khaleda’s behaviour is extremely cruel. She has
waged a war against 1.5 million students.”

Rejecting the call for dialogues with the BNP over next general
election, Tofail said, “With whom should we have dialogue? The Awami League won’t sit with these terrorists and militants who kill innocent people.”

He advised the BNP chairperson to prepare for the 11th parliamentary
polls ‘to be held in 2019’.

“The elections will be held within 90 days before the end of the tenure
of the government in 2019.

“Get ready to join that polls. There is no chance for polls before that,” he said.

State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu said
Khaleda had ‘got into the clutches’ of the Jamaat-e-Islami.
