Earlier in the afternoon, several crude bombs were exploded in front of the BNP's Naya Paltan headquarters from a procession taken out by a JCD faction rejecting the new committee.
Khaleda on Tuesday approved the student front’s new panel with Rajib Ahsan as president and Akramul Hasan as general secretary.
The new committee leaders at noon visited the party headquarters at Naya Paltan where the protesting Chhatra Dal faction demonstrated and exploded bombs afterwards.
They went to meet the BNP chief at her Gulshan office around 8:15pm. Around 9am, the meeting ended and Khaleda went to her room on the first floor.
When the bombs exploded around 10:42pm outside the office, on the north side of the gate, some people raised slogans rejecting the new JCD committee.
After that, police reinforcements arrived and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists cleared the area.
