Speaking at a discussion in Dhaka on Tuesday, he said the country was going through ‘a big crisis’ and asked the prime minister to hold a fair election.

Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Sangstha organised the discussion at the National Press Club commemorating Nazrul song artiste Feroza Begum, who died on Sept 9 at a Dhaka hospital.

The BNP policymaker said Feroza Begum was an extraordinary artiste. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t give her state honour. The government has showed how mean it is in her case. She was not honoured properly.”

He described the government as ‘illegal’ and said there was no alternative to movement for unseating the ruling Awami League.
BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said conspiracies were on at home and abroad against their party.
“We believe fall of the government is inevitable if the people can come down on the street,” he said.
