The success rate at this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams has gone up to 78.33 percent against last year's 74.30 percent.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid along with chairmen of all education boards handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina around 10am on Wednesday.
A total of 70,602 students have scored GPA 5 this year.
1,147,374 students of 8,104 institutions took this year's HSC and equivalent exams between Apr 3 and Jun 16.
The previous year's success rate was 74.30 percent and 58,197 students had scored GPA 5.
Under the eight education boards, 75.74 percent students passed the HSC exams, while the success rate in the exams under the Madrasa Board stood at 94.08 percent. 85.02 percent students cleared their exams under the vocational education board.
The highest success rate was recorded in Dhaka board with 84.54 percent students passing this year while Jessore board scored the lowest 60.58 percent.
79.16 percent students of Sylhet board cleared the exam while at Rajshahi it's 78.55 percent, Dinajpur 74.14 percent, Barisal 71.75 percent Comilla 70.14 percent and Chittagong 70.36 percent.
