A letter on the appointment was sent from the finance ministry's Bank and Financial Institutions Division to the public administration ministry on Tuesday.
According to the letter, a search panel formed to fill the vacant position recommended Moniruzzaman render his voluntary retirement from public and take on a three-year term as the deputy governor. The letter also said the prime minister has cleared the appointment.
The Ministry of Public Administration is tasked with dealing with all employment contracts and will later issue a formal circular.
