The hearing of the BNP leader's plea was scheduled for Tuesday along with a similar petition of Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid.
The Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha accepted their counsel Khandaker Mahbub Hossain's plea seeking time for a hearing on Chowdhury's petition after the court heard Mujahid's appeal.
"The court said 'Not today' when we sought more time," Hossain said after the hearing.

According to the Supreme Court website, the BNP leader’s review petition is third in order of the bench's business agenda for Wednesday.
The other members of the bench are Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, and Justice Hasan Foez Siddique.
Chowdhury's review petition was third also on Tuesday, but his counsel Hossain said he was not willing to argue the former MP’s case after the hearing of Mujahid's plea.
The court said he should continue the argument as "he was so young" and "seemed to be effortless in the media".
Hossain replied that he needed time to prepare for the hearing of a case after another.
International Crime Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Ghulam Arieff Tipoo, Additional Attorney General Momtaz Uddin Fakir and Deputy Attorney General Ekramul Haque Tutul were present at the hearing.
SM Shajahan and Tanvir Ahmed Al-Amin assisted Hossain.
