They also took out a procession and held a rally on the campus on Sunday, mourning the death.
Sociology teacher AKM Shafiul Islam, 48, was stabbed to death near the campus Saturday.
The motive remains unclear but a self-styled ‘militant organisation’ claimed responsibility for the killing on Facebook.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered police to swiftly nab the perpetrators.
Sunday’s admission tests were held as per schedule.
RU central cultural front took out a procession and held a rally demanding the arrest of the killers.
At the rally, Social Sciences Faculty Dean Prof Nilufar Sultana said the protests should not stop until the killers are punished for their crimes.
Management studies teacher Prof Moloy Kumar Bhowmik believed the murder was part of an effort by anti-liberation forces to thwart the ongoing trials of suspected war criminals.
