The Oxford International School student had hitherto been staying at Gazipur Kishori Unnayan Kendra, a juvenile correction home since Aug 24.
Metropolitan Magistrate Anwar Sadat passed the order on Thursday after Abu Al Kayer, the Investigation Officer of the case, and Social Welfare Department Probation Officer Siddiqur Rahman submitted the birthday certificate of Oishee before him.
According to the document prepared in a clinic in Khulna, the main suspect of the twin murders is above 18 years of age. It also says Oishee was born in Khulna.
But Oishee’s school certificate shows she is much younger than that.
Oishee was sent into police custody for questioning after she surrendered before the court on Aug 17. The same magistrate had sent her to that correction home later.
Thursday’s court order comes two days after a Supreme Court lawyer, Yunus Ali Akand, issued a legal notice asking for transfer of the “19-year-old” to prison from the correction home.
The notice stated that Oishee must be sent to prison within 24 hours.
As her school records showed her as a minor, remanding her sparked a lot of debate at home and abroad.
National Human Rights Commission Chairman Mizanur Rahman believed that her arrest and remand are violations of the Children Act.
The court had ordered a medical investigation to decide her age after questions were raised against the move to send her into remand in police custody.
The report is yet to arrive, court Registrar Abdul Gaffar has told bdnews24.com.
He added auto-rickshaw driver Iman Ali and one Kulshum Begum recorded their statements before Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur on Thursday.
Police believe Oishee went to several parts of Dhaka in Ali’s vehicle on Aug 15 and stayed at Kulshum’s house later after ‘killing’ her parents.
Special Branch Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Begum were found dead the next day at their flat in Chamelibagh, Dhaka.
The autopsy reports show her father’s body bore two stab wounds while her mother’s had a total of 11 wounds.
Police claim Oishee was “nurturing hatred” for her parents as they barred her from leading a life full of indiscipline.
