The demand came on Tuesday shortly after media ran a report about Mazhar terming different media outlets 'terrorists' and attacks on them and journalists 'right' during the Opposition's countrywide shutdown.
The Association of Television Channel Owners held a meeting at the office of Channel 24 at Dhaka's Tajgaon.
After the meeting, Vice President of the Association and Maasranga Television's Managing Director Anjan Chowdhury told reporters: "It is very provocative. We are requesting legal steps against him."
He also condemned the attacks on media outlets and media persons during the current political situation.
