48 candidates have been elected without a contest to the reserved seats for women in the tenth national parliament.

Returning Officer Jasmine Tuli said on Wednesday a final list of candidates may be ready by Thursday for gazette notification.
There are 50 seats reserved for women in Parliament.
Thirty eight Awami League candidates, one each from Workers' Party and JSD, five from Jatiya Party and three independent candidates have been announced elected without any contest.
The Election Commission (EC) cancelled nominations of one Awami League and one Jatiya Party candidate.
Tuesday was scheduled for the withdrawal of nominations.
The National Parliament (reserved seats for women) Election Act 2004 stipulates that if the number of candidates from a party or an alliance is less than or equal to the number of seats allocated to that party or alliance, the candidates will be declared winners without contest , the day after the deadline.
The new MPs will have to take oath within three days of gazette notification.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is right now in Geneva, and is scheduled to return on Mar 21. After that, she will administer the oath to the new lawmakers.
The first session of the 10th Parliament will continue until Apr 3.
The schedule for election to the remaining two seats reserved for women will be announced within 21 days, according to EC officials.
