Candidate boycotts election in Barisal
The BNP backed chairman candidate of Barisal’s Muladi Upazila Abdus Sattar Khan has pulled out of the polls.

Khan alleged ruling party supporters had taken over poll centres. beaten up his agents and resorted to rigging.
His announcement came from a press conference, two hours after the polling started.
Sattar, the president of BNP’s Muladi unit, said that supports of ruling party backed candidate Tariqul Hasan Khan Mitthu have stopped his polling agents from entering the centres.
“Those who managed to enter were beaten up and driven away. Supporters of Awami League have occupied the polling centres,” he said.
According to Sattar, more than 50 of his supporters have been injured in attacks by the opponent.
