“A certain quarter is conspiring (against government). This is being done to taint the government’s image,” communications minister Obaidul Quader said on Saturday at Lakhsmipur.

He said that the government has taken a stern stance against abductions and that the situation would improve very soon.
Meanwhile, shipping minister Shajahan Khan blamed the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami for the recent abductions and murders.
“Whatever is happening now is the handiwork of the 19-party alliance, which means the BNP-Jamaat,” he told reporters at Madaripur on Saturday.
“They are trying to prove that Sheikh Hasina-led government has failed and conspiring to topple it by carrying out these incidents”, he added.
