Many people in Dhaka hail motorcycle rides without calling the riders via mobile phone apps. The professional motorcyclists are also interested in these rides because they do not need to share the fare with the apps. Passenger safety, however, remains neglected and in some cases the passengers have to pay more than expected fare.
