A total of 68,768 students have qualified for various scholarships across Bangladesh.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon and State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj announced the results at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.

Of those selected, 46,200 students under nine general education boards made the junior scholarship list.

Under the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, 11,180 students were chosen for the Dakhil eighth-grade scholarship, and another 11,180 for the Ebtedayee fifth-grade scholarship.

In addition, 208 students from the Technical Education Board were selected for the JS (Junior Scholarship) and JD (Junior Dakhil) scholarships.

The junior scholarship examinations began on Dec 28 and ran until Jan 5.

Exams were held in Bangla on Dec 28, English on Dec 29, Mathematics on Dec 30, and Science alongside Bangladesh and Global Studies on Jan 5.

A total of 315,160 students who passed Class Eight in 2025 sat the exams.

Among the 46,200 junior scholarship recipients, 14,700 were placed in the talent pool, or merit category, while 31,500 received general scholarships.

Merit scholarship holders will receive a one-off annual grant of Tk 560 and a monthly stipend of Tk 450.

General scholarship recipients will receive Tk 350 annually and Tk 300 per month.

The benefits will continue for two years.

The exam carried 400 marks -- 100 each for Bangla, English and Mathematics, and 50 each for Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies. Each paper lasted three hours.
