The West Indies clinched their first T20 series win in more than a year, sealing a 2–0 lead over Bangladesh after defending 149 in Chattogram.
The visitors overcame a dramatic mid-innings collapse and held their nerve with the ball, led by Romario Shepherd and Akeal Hosein, who shared six wickets between them at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium on Wednesday.
Bangladesh’s reply never quite clicked despite Tanzid Hasan’s fluent 61 off 48 balls.

The young left-hander struck three sixes and as many fours, but found little support as the hosts fell 14 runs short on a pitch that favoured batting. Dew aided batting conditions, yet Bangladesh’s middle-order hesitated between caution and aggression.
Earlier, the West Indies were cruising at 106 for 1 before Bangladesh bowlers ran riot. Mustafizur Rahman (3-21), Nasum Ahmed (2-35), and Rishad Hossain (2-20) triggered a stunning turnaround as the visitors lost eight wickets for just 43 runs.
Shai Hope (55) and Alick Athanaze had powered the start, adding 103 in 10.5 overs after early reprieves. Athanaze’s dismissal on 52, caught at deep square-leg off Nasum, began the slide.
Rutherford fell next ball, and Hope soon followed, miscuing Mustafizur to point. From 106 for 1, the West Indies limped to 149 for 9.

Bangladesh’s chase began shakily. Saif Hassan (5) fell to Jason Holder’s short ball, and Litton Das, after a brisk 23, was bowled by Hosein.
Tanzid counterattacked with clean strikes over midwicket, but frequent wickets – Towhid Hridoy’s edge, Jaker Ali’s tame dismissal – halted momentum.
Needing 50 off the last five overs, Bangladesh’s hopes rested on Tanzid. He lofted Shepherd for four but perished soon after, caught at deep point. Shepherd then removed Jaker, while Holder and Hosein mopped up the tail. Hosein’s tidy final over sealed the win, finishing with 3 for 22.
