A high-level delegation from the Swiss foreign ministry has visited Nestle Bangladesh PLC’s Sreepur factory to reaffirm its commitment to quality and economic partnership.

The development was detailed in a media statement issued by the company, following the diplomatic visit on Jun 1.

The delegation was led by Markus Leitner, head of the Asia-Pacific Division at the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who was accompanied by Reto Renggli, ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh, and other senior officials.

According to the statement, the tour highlighted Nestle Bangladesh’s contribution to the country’s industrial and economic development since 1994, particularly in advancing local capability, innovation, and employment.

During the factory tour, the delegation “commended Nestle’s world-class manufacturing standards, giving specific recognition to its Infant Formula operations”.

The company noted that the appreciation reflected its "unwavering commitment to Swiss quality, safety and excellence”.

The Sreepur facility was also cited as an example of how Swiss businesses can maintain global benchmarks while strengthening local manufacturing ecosystems, it said.

The company also highlighted its Creating Shared Value initiatives, which focus on regenerative agriculture, nutrition and youth employability.

It said those programmes are currently benefiting more than 20,000 families and contributing to inclusive and sustainable growth.

“Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties and fostering continued investment and sustainable business growth in Bangladesh,” the statement read.
