Disaster Management and Relief minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali expressed satisfaction on preparations taken ahead of cyclone ‘Mahasen’ and said it had helped cut down risk of a disaster.
Mahasen precaution: more leaves cancelled
The Water Development Board on Wednesday cancelled leaves of all its field employees at 15 coastal districts and instructed them to remain posted in their work sites.

The districts are – Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Feni, Laxmipur, Noakhali, Chandpur, Bhola, Patuakhali, Borguna, Barisal, Jhalokathi, Pirozpur, Khulna and Saatkhira.
Authorities on Wednesday morning asked for danger signal `7` to be hoisted on the Chittagong- Cox’s Bazar stretch.
A Met Office bulletin advised coastal districts of Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur, Bhola, Borguna, Patuakhali, Barisal and their offshore islands to hoist danger signal ‘7’.
Mongla port and coastal districts of Pirojpur, Jhalokathi, Bagherhat, Khulna, Satkhira and their offshore islands were to raise danger signal ‘5’.
The order signed by WDB Secretary Abdul Khalek on Wednesday asked relevant officials to keep close contacts with local administration, office of disaster management, relief and rescue workers.
