Bus and minibus operations on the route resumed after the leaders of Mohakhali and Tangail bus owners’ associations met the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner, Mohakhali Bus Owners’ Association President Abul Kalam Azad told bdnews24.com.
The meeting, which began at the commissioner's residence around 3:30pm, last three hours.
“Both groups have agreed that illegal vehicles and the buses without route permits would not operate on the route any anymore,” Azad said.

Dulal Hossain Dulu, Organising Secretary of the Sirajganj Motor Workers’ Union, told bdnews24.com that the driver of a Dhaka-bound bus from Sirajganj and his helper had been beaten up in Chandura on Thursday by the leaders and workers of the Mohakhali bus terminal.
Dulu alleged that the attackers had also snatched money from the driver and his assistant.
The motor vehicle owners and workers of Sirajganj suspended services to Mohakhali in protest against the roughing-up.
Two weeks ago, a bus from Jhenaigati without route permit was detained at Mohakhali. The owner of the vehicle was from Tangail district.
In a retaliatory move a bus on the Dhaka-Bogra route leaving the Mohakhali terminal was seized at Angela and brought to Tangail town.
Azad claimed the passengers had been forced to get off at Angela and its helper was severely beaten up.
In the ongoing row, a group of transport leaders and workers of Mohakhali, seized a number buses operating on the Tangail route, leading to the suspension of services on the Mohakhali-Tangail-Sirajganj routes since Thursday, causing immense suffering to thousands of commuters.
